James MacArthur portrayed detective Danny Williams, nicknamed “Danno,” on the television series Hawaii Five-O for 11 years, from 1968 to 1979. Although he has lived in California for the past several years, James kept his house in Hawaii and he has also coproduced a documentary on the impact of Hawaii Five-O on that state's tourism. He says that several veterans of the series, including Kam Fong and Zulu, as well as himself reunited recently at a tribute celebration, with the exception of Jack Lord (McGarrett), who now suffers from Alzheimer's disease. James MacArthur, who will be 60 years old this coming December 8th, donned his Hawaiian shirt and was seen in the company of several pretty girls during a recent party in London to celebrate the redistribution of episodes of this cult series.
