Benedict Some Fires Die Slowly (16 February 1963) Appearing as Bert Stover Broadcast 16 February 1963 on the NBC television network. This courtroom drama was loosely based on the career of famed real-life trial lawyer Jacob W. "Jake" Erlich, who also served as technical consultant for the program. Doug Stover (Barry Sullivan) has built up his lamp factory just for his son Bert (James MacArthur), but the boy refuses to join the firm. When the factory burns down, the elder Stover is accused of setting the fire to collect the insurance. With Edmond O'Brien as Sam Benedict, Betty Field as Mrs. Stover, and George Mitchell as Joe Martinson. |
