Mild-mannered and meek, Bob Graham (James MacArthur) feels himself a miserable failure in life. Having studied martial arts for many years, he decides that the only way to redeem himself is to challenge and beat a far superior opponent. Fearful that her husband is placing himself in certain danger, Linda Graham (Shelley Fabares) tries futilely to talk him out of it, but Bob is adamant. The only way he will ever regain his self esteem is to prove himself the better warrior. Is he up to the task? Will his fantasy give him what he needs, or will it instead prove to be the end of his marriage, if not his life?
