Bonanza Check Rein (3 December 1967) Appearing as Jace Fredericks Broadcast 3 December 1967 on the NBC television network. Synopsis by Curator@jmdigitalscrapbook.com: Jace Fredericks (James MacArthur) and his fiance Kathy (Patricia Hyland) have a plan. Things haven't been going well for them lately, but that's all about to change. Since the death of Kathy's father, with whom Jace had partnered to start a horse ranch, finances have been tough. Now the bank has foreclosed on her property and the horses are to be auctioned. The
young couple haven't the money to stop the foreclosure or the sale, but
Jace has just enough to buy back the black caballero, a specially trained
horse who will herd other wild horses for his master. When Kathy asks Jace what he will do if his uncle gets in his way, Jace vows he will kill Bingham. In his haste to get to Rimville and the site of the auction, Jace misses the signs warning that the Cartwrights are blasting a logging trail with dynamite. Although Candy (David Canary) and Joe (Michael Landon) try to warn Jace off, it's too late and he's caught in the blast, thrown from his horse and badly injured. Now unable to travel, Jace commissions Joe and Candy to go to the auction in his stead and purchase the caballero. They succeed, only to have the bill of sale and the horse stolen by Bingham's men. Will the Cartwrights be able to help Jace and Kathy and stop Bingham from keeping the ranch and the caballero? Or will Jace carry out his threat and finally rid himself of his nemesis?
